Konia

KONIA (KONIEH or KONYA): The Turks incarcerated British enlisted men and interned enemy civilians in Anatolia in Konia. The city was located in the Vilayet of Konia, 125 miles southeast of Afion Karahissar and 145 miles northwest of Adana in southwest central Asia Minor. Konia was situated on a major railroad line, 110 miles east of Afion Karahissar, on the edge of the central Turkish plateau. The Turks sent Armenian civilians for interment to the city in mid-1915. In December 1915, the Turkish government sent British, French, and Russian civilians for internment in Konia.
